This skin type is characterized by an overproduction of sebum forming an oily film on the skin, which clogs pores and oxidizes on exposure to the air. This causes impurities and blackheads, particularly in the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin).

Excessive sebum production results not only in blemishes and a shiny face: the pH levels become altered and the skin’s natural protection is reduced, favouring bacterial growth. 

Harmful substances like dust, dirt and smog cling to the oily surface and become easily trapped, causing blemishes and irritations that prevent the skin from breathing correctly and receiving oxygen.

Unable to renew itself properly, the skin becomes thick and irregular, easily inflamed, with enlarged pores.

The specific treatment for this skin type will have to be deeply (but gently) purifying and rebalancing, while providing appropriate moisture; the result will be fresh, vital skin and an even, bright, oil-free complexion.

	Oily skin should be cleansed scrupulously and regularly, but gently; the appropriate cleanser is then a specific, non-aggressive product to avoid rebound oiliness. The light, oil-free formula of Purifying Cleansing Gel leaves the skin thoroughly cleansed; Burdock, Cinnamon, Lapacho and Ginger extracts help normalize sebum production while maintaining the skin’s balance. Use: Apply a small amount of Purifying Cleansing Gel over wet face, and massage gently using circular motions; rinse thoroughly. Use in the morning to free pores of sebum accumulated during the night, and in the evening to remove all traces of smog, impurities and make up. 	The solution to blemishes and blackheads: rich in Tea tree (essential oil and mildly exfoliating leaves) and Cinnamon extract, with purifying and balancing properties, this cleanser frees pores of all impurities ensuring deep but gentle cleansing. Green clay acts as a sponge to absorb excess sebum, reduce oiliness and shiny appearance. Helan’s Cleansing Bar has a neutral pH and is soap and colouring free. It does not contain alkaline substances and is highly compatible with the skin. Use : Use as a soap, to effectively and gently free pores of sebum, smog and impurities without irritation. Kaolin Clay Cream-Gel
	This smooth Cream-gel combines the balancing and matifying properties of herbal extracts with a moisturizing action to ensure proper hydration to the skin. It is the ideal product to normalize the skin’s pH level, control sebum production and maintain a fresh, mat complexion. Use: After cleansing and toning with Purifying Cleansing Gel and Astringent Toning Water, apply from the centre of the face towards the sides until completely absorbed. Green Clay Scrub Mask
	Smog, dirt and dust tend to accumulate on oily skins more than on other skin types, determining the need for special care. The daily cleansing routine with Purifying Cleansing Gel and Astringent Toning Water can be effectively complemented by periodically using a deep pore-cleansing product like Helan’s Scrub Mask. The purifying action of Tea Tree and Lemon essential oils and Lapacho extract combines with the absorbent properties of Green Clay to neutralize excess sebum and fight oiliness. Based on evidence that acne is associated with low levels of linoleic acid, the scrub-mask is also enriched with Avocado and Rose Hip Seed oil and Olive oil unsaponifiable. Use : After cleansing with Purifying Cleansing Gel, dry off and apply Scrub Mask evenly, avoiding the eye area. Leave in for a few minutes, then remove with a damp cotton ball and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Follow with the application of alcohol-free Astringent Toning Water.
