The birth of a new baby is a moment of great excitement and joy. Everyone is involved in preparing everything the baby will need, from clothes to accessories and naturally the right products for a newborn’s delicate skin. 

The physiology of babies’ skin, especially before they are one year old, is very different from that of adults: 

• the thin corneous layer means the skin is smooth and soft, but also more exposed and sensitive to external aggressions;

• the basal layer of the skin contains few melanin-producing cells, determining a low natural protection against harmful ultraviolet rays;

• the thin lower dermis is has small, undeveloped collagen and elastic fibres;

• sebaceous glands will be underactive until puberty (the skin has no smell); the lipid balance is then different from that of an adult in quality and quantity;

• a baby’s skin is more permeable because of its high water content (approximately 75%);

• the pH level is slightly less acid than that of adult skin.

These characteristics make a baby’s skin more exposed to aggressions of a physical (like wind, cold and sun), chemical (irritating substances) or bacterial nature. Choosing a specifically formulated baby care range is then vital from the very first day, to:

Softening Oil Cleanser
	- For nappy rash and cradle cap. - Contains Sweet Almond, Rose Hip Seed, Carrot and Marigold oils. This blend of vegetable oils very similar to the skin’s lipid structure, does not obstruct pores; it dissolves and delicately removes secretions without damaging the skin. The product has an unctuous texture and high skin affinity, and leaves a long-lasting protective film that respects the physiology of the skin. It is especially useful in the nappy area, where constant wetness can cause nappy rash, and can also be used to treat cradle cap.   - 150ml
Cleansing Lotion
	- For cleaning delicate baby skin to prevent redness and chapping. - Contains Sweet Almond, Oat, Marigold and Chamomile oils. A soft, unctuous lotion which can be used to cleanse your baby’s face and body when a few months old; to avoid frequent baths that can cause redness and chapping, especially in the winter, clean the skin with a cotton ball soaked with lotion. This excellent cleanser rich in natural oils and extracts restores the correct hydro-lipid balance of the baby’s skin.   - 125ml
All-Over Bath Lotion
	- Gentle cleanser for face, body and hair. Instead of a shampoo and a bath product, Helan formulated an all-over lotion containing and association of vegetable surfactants (obtained from Sugar cane, Beetroot, Wheat and Sweet corn) with fatty acids from Coconut palm. This extremely gentle cleanser, enriched with Oat flour proteins, Marigold extracts and Sweet almond oil, allows removal of impurities and residues of corneous layer renewal without altering the delicate hair and skin of a baby. Use a capful of lotion, then rinse. - 125ml
Soap-Free Oat Bar
	The Soap-free Oat Bar is a neutral-pH, soap- and colouring-free detergent, enriched with oatmeal. It respects the baby’s delicate skin while ensuring perfect cleansing and a softening action. Its delicately scented, soft foam rinses easily and leaves the skin pleasantly fresh. The skin affinity of this excellent cleanser restores the correct hydro-lipid balance of the skin. - 100g
Scented Rice Starch
	- Baby body powder. Starch is the main constituent of the rice seed. It has a refreshing and softening action on the skin when ground to a fine powder, and is used to keep the skin dry and avoid diaper rash and irritation. The delicate Lemon verbena (Lippia citrodora) scent will leave the skin feeling fresh and clean. To use, sprinkle the baby’s body evenly with the powder. - 150g
Refreshing Softening Cream
	- Contains Sweet Almond and Rose Hip Seed oils, Oat, Aloe Vera juice, Vitamins A and E. The high content in fatty substances similar to sebum, soothing and refreshing, is the plus making this soft and easy to apply lotion effective. It can be applied generously in a thick layer at every nappy change, after washing the area, to protect from direct contact with nappies and prevent irritation and rashes. It can be also applied all over the body, massaging lightly into the skin after bathing. The fatty acids content of Rose Hip Seed oil and its protective action against sun, wind and cold make it an ideal outdoor cream for your baby’s face. - 100ml
Alcohol-free Cologne
	This extremely light cologne completes the hygiene of your baby. Its soft, fresh bouquet is specifically formulated for babies, and delicate fragrances suitable for delicate skin combine with the soothing action of Oat proteins. The freshly harmonious fragrance includes essences of Lemon Verbena, Bergamot from Calabria, Lemon and Orange from Sicily, Bitter orange blossoms, combined with Tunisian Rosemary, Clary and Petitgrain Bigarade. A refreshing, delicate floral water, gently stimulating the sense of smell.     - 100ml
Soothing Protective Cream
	- Contains Sweet Almond oil, Beeswax, Aloe vera gel, Marigold and Vitamin E. The Helan Protective Cream has been specifically formulated and made to efficiently block wetness and irritating substances and to protect your baby's skin in the delicate nappy area. Enriched with sweet Almond oil and Beeswax, it is softening and lubricating. It contains Aloe Vera gel and Marigold extract which make it soothing and calming. This makes a hydrating action which covers and protects and is specifically aimed to avoid rashes, irritations and chapping in the groin folds of skin.  How to use: Clean down the skin with a wad of cotton  soaked in Fluid Cleansing Cream or, if the skin is particularly sensitive, clean it down with Cleansing Oil and then apply a thick layer of Protective Cream without massaging. Easily spread and also easily removable. - 100ml
